ปตท.สผ. ติดอันดับ Leadership Level ด้านจัดการความเสี่ยงและลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกต่อเนื่อง 3 ปีซ้อน
บริษัท ปตท.สำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียม จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ ปตท.สผ. ได้รับการประกาศให้อยู่ในบริษัทกลุ่มผู้นำ (Leadership level) ติดต่อกันเป็นปีที่ 3 ในฐานะบริษัทที่มีแผนการจัดการความเสี่ยงและลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจก จากองค์กรเอกชนเพื่อสาธารณประโยชน์ด้านการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศ Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) ซึ่งมีบทบาทในการขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจที่ยั่งยืน โดย ปตท.สผ. เป็น 1 ใน 3 บริษัทที่ได้รับการจัดอันดับอยู่ในกลุ่มบริษัทผู้นำที่ระดับ A- ซึ่งเป็นอันดับสูงที่สุดในกลุ่มภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และเขตบริหารพิเศษฮ่องกงแห่งสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน โดยมีกว่า 1,000 บริษัททั่วโลกสมัครเข้าร่วมการจัดอันดับดังกล่าวเป็นประจำทุกปี
นายสมพร ว่องวุฒิพรชัย ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารและกรรมการผู้จัดใหญ่ ปตท.สผ. กล่าวว่า “ตามวิสัยทัศน์ของ ปตท.สผ. การบริหารจัดการสีเขียวเป็นปัจจัยหลักของการบริหารจัดการอย่างยั่งยืน โดยเราใช้การบริหารเชิงรุกเพื่อรองรับสถานการณ์การเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง การที่เราได้รับคัดเลือกให้อยู่ในบริษัทกลุ่มผู้นำหรือ Leadership level จาก CDP อีกครั้งในปีนี้ย่อมเป็นบทพิสูจน์ถึงศักยภาพของ ปตท.สผ. ในการมุ่งสู่การเป็นบริษัทสำรวจและผลิตปิโตรเลียมชั้นนำในเอเชีย ที่ขับเคลื่อนด้วยผลการดำเนินงานที่สามารถแข่งขันได้ เทคโนโลยีและหัวใจสีเขียว”
ทั้งนี้ แนวทางการบริหารจัดการสีเขียวของ ปตท.สผ. มีวัตถุประสงค์หลักเพื่อลดผลกระทบด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมซึ่งเกิดจากการดำเนินธุรกิจ ลดรอยเท้าคาร์บอน (Carbon footprint) และรอยเท้านิเวศ (Ecological footprint) รวมทั้งเสริมสร้างคุณค่าให้การดำเนินธุรกิจ โดยแนวทางการบริหารจัดการสีเขียวของ ปตท.สผ. ประกอบด้วย มาตรการด้านการอนุรักษ์พลังงาน การจัดซื้อจัดจ้างสีเขียว รวมถึงการกำหนดเป้าหมายลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกลงอย่างน้อยร้อยละ 20 จากการดำเนินธุรกิจตามปกติภายในปี 2563 นอกจากนี้ ปตท.สผ. ยังได้ตระหนักถึงความเสี่ยงและโอกาสที่เกิดจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศต่อการดำเนินธุรกิจ บริษัทจึงได้ดำเนินโครงการศึกษาการปรับตัวจากผลกระทบทางด้านสภาพภูมิอากาศ เพื่อให้สามารถดำเนินธุรกิจได้อย่างยั่งยืน

PTTEP ranked at 'Leadership Level'In CDP's Climate Change evaluation for 3 consecutive years
PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) has attained “Leadership Level” for its achievement and leadership in greenhouse gas emissions reduction for 3 consecutive years by Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), an international non-profit organization in climate change area that drives sustainable economies. PTTEP is one of three companies in the Hong Kong & South East Asia region to have been awarded an A- and attained leadership level in 2016. Every year, thousands of companies submit annual climate disclosures to CDP for independent assessment against its scoring methodology.
Somporn Vongvuthipornchai, President and Chief Executive Officer of PTTEP said “as stated in PTTEP’s vision, green practice is at the heart of our sustainability strategy. We are delighted that we continue to be ranked at the Leadership level in CDP's Climate Change evaluation. Green Practice for PTTEP is aimed at mitigating environmental impacts from its operations, lowering its carbon and ecological footprints, as well as creating value added processes to its business. The company’s Green Practice Roadmap includes, for example, its commitment to achieving 20% GHG emissions reduction by 2020 based on business as usual, energy conservation program, and green procurement. In addition, bearing in mind both risks and opportunities of climate change, PTTEP is also conducting a rigorous climate change adaptation assessment to maintain our long-term sustainability.
