อาคารเอสซีจี 100 ปี ต้นแบบอาคารประหยัดพลังงานแห่งอนาคต ผ่านการรับรอง LEED Platinumตอบโจทย์คนรุ่นใหม่ที่ใส่ใจสิ่งแวดล้อม
อาคารเอสซีจี 100 ปี ได้รับการรับรองมาตรฐานอาคารประหยัดพลังงานและเป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม ประเภทอาคารสร้างใหม่ (The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Building Design and Construction: LEED BD+C) ระดับสูงสุด LEED Platinum จากสภาอาคารเขียวสหรัฐอเมริกา ตอกย้ำความเป็นองค์กรต้นแบบอาคารประหยัดพลังงานและเป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม ตอบโจทย์ไลฟ์สไตล์คนทำงานรุ่นใหม่ พร้อมให้คำปรึกษาด้านอาคารที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม

การพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน เอสซีจี เปิดเผยว่า “เอสซีจีได้นำแนวคิดการอยู่ร่วมกันอย่างยั่งยืนขององค์กรและชุมชนโดยรอบ ผนวกกับวัฒนธรรมองค์กร วิสัยทัศน์ขององค์กร ความหลากหลายของคนหลายรุ่น และความต้องการของคนรุ่นใหม่ที่กำลังเข้ามาเป็นทรัพยากรหลักขององค์กรสู่การออกแบบอาคารเอสซีจี 100 ปี อาคารที่ออกแบบและก่อสร้างโดยคำนึงถึงผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม การอนุรักษ์พลังงาน และคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้ใช้อาคาร เพื่อเป็นองค์กรต้นแบบของอาคารสำนักงานที่ประหยัดพลังงานและเป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยได้รับการรับรองมาตรฐาน ประเภทอาคารสร้างใหม่ระดับสูงสุด LEED BD+C Platinum (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Building Design and Construction) จากสภาอาคารเขียวสหรัฐอเมริกา (U.S. Green Building Council: USGBC) ซึ่งถือเป็นมาตรฐานสากลที่มีความเข้มข้นและเป็นที่ยอมรับระดับโลก เพื่อยืนยันถึงความมุ่งมั่นต่อการดำเนินธุรกิจที่รับผิดชอบต่อสังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อมของเอสซีจี”
อาคารเอสซีจี 100 ปี เป็นอาคารแห่งความยั่งยืนอย่างแท้จริง ตั้งแต่ขั้นตอนการก่อสร้าง ด้วยการเลือกใช้วัสดุก่อสร้างที่เป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อมในทุกขั้นตอนการผลิต รวมถึงใช้วัสดุรีไซเคิล ซึ่งส่วนหนึ่งเป็นสินค้า SCG eco value ตลอดจนควบคุมงานในระหว่างก่อสร้างและกำจัดเศษวัสดุต่างๆ ไม่ให้ส่งผลกระทบต่อชุมชนโดยรอบ มุ่งเน้นคุณประโยชน์ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมและระบบนิเวศเป็นหลัก ได้แก่ ลดความร้อนเข้าสู่ตัวอาคาร ด้วยการติดตั้งกระจก 2 ชั้นที่มีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์การถ่ายเทความร้อนต่ำ ลดการใช้พลังงานไฟฟ้า โดยใช้ระบบแสงสว่างหลอดประหยัดไฟฟ้า T5 หลอด LED รวมทั้งการติดตั้ง Solar Panel เพื่อนำพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์มาใช้ประโยชน์ ลดการใช้น้ำ มีระบบการบริหารจัดการน้ำ (Water Management) ที่นำน้ำฝนและน้ำเสียที่ได้รับการบำบัดแล้ว 100 % ด้วยเทคโนโลยีที่ทันสมัย มาใช้ชำระล้างสุขภัณฑ์และรดน้ำต้นไม้ ปรับปรุงภูมิทัศน์รอบตัวอาคาร (Landscape) ให้มีความร่มรื่น มีพื้นที่สีเขียวมากกว่าร้อยละ 50 ของพื้นที่เปิดโล่ง สามารถเป็นมุมพักผ่อนและใช้ประโยชน์ได้หลากหลาย และที่สำคัญคือสร้างเสริมสุขภาพคนทำงานและตอบสนองการใช้ชีวิตการทำงานได้อย่างมีความสุข
เอสซีจียังจัดทำ SCG Smart Office เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการบริหารจัดการอาคารด้วยระบบ Building Automation System (BAS) อาทิ ระบบปรับอากาศ ระบบไฟฟ้าแสงสว่าง รวมถึงมุ่งเน้นเรื่อง Green Activities ลดการเดินทางของพนักงานโดยใช้การสื่อสารแบบ VDO Conference มีบริเวณที่จอดรถ ที่จอดรถจักรยาน เพื่อส่งเสริมสุขภาพและลดมลพิษจากการใช้รถยนต์ส่วนบุคคล ตลอดจนที่จอดรถพิเศษสำหรับ Eco Car ที่อยู่ใกล้ทางเข้า เป็นสิทธิประโยชน์แก่ผู้ใช้รถที่ใส่ใจสิ่งแวดล้อม
นายรุ่งโรจน์ กล่าวเสริมว่า “นอกจากนี้ เอสซีจีได้จัดตั้งหน่วยงาน SCG Green Solution เพื่อให้คำปรึกษาด้านอาคารที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมกับองค์กรภายนอก แนะนำการใช้สินค้าและบริการ จัดตั้งเป็นธุรกิจให้คำปรึกษาเพื่อสนับสนุนการพัฒนางานสถาปัตยกรรมอย่างยั่งยืนให้สอดคล้องกับระบบเศรษฐกิจและสังคมที่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงและขยายตัวอย่างต่อเนื่อง พร้อมเสริมสร้างเครือข่ายองค์กรที่ดำเนินธุรกิจโดยให้ความสำคัญกับการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนในอนาคต”
การก่อสร้างอาคารเอสซีจี 100 ปี ใช้งบประมาณกว่า 3,300 ล้านบาท โดยใช้เวลา 3 ปี จึงแล้วเสร็จ ซึ่งแม้จะมีผลตอบแทนในเชิงธุรกิจที่เทียบไม่ได้กับการปรับปรุงกระบวนการผลิต แต่ในมุมของการช่วยกันดูแลอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม การลงทุนครั้งนี้ถือว่ามีแต่ได้กำไรและมีประโยชน์มหาศาล อีกทั้งความภูมิใจของพนักงานที่ได้ร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม ปลูกจิตสำนึกที่ดี สามารถต่อยอดสู่การปรับปรุงเรื่องอื่น ๆ ได้อย่างไม่สิ้นสุด
อาคารเอสซีจี 100 ปี มีจุดสังเกต (Landmark) คือรูปทรงที่พริ้วไหวเป็นเอกลักษณ์ ไม่เป็นรูปทรงเรขาคณิต เป็นตัวแทนอาคารสำนักงานของคนรุ่นใหม่ (Generation X and Y) ที่มีระเบียงรอบตัวอาคารเป็นเส้นโค้งที่สวยงาม แสดงอัตลักษณ์ของเอสซีจีในเรื่องการคิดต่างอย่างสร้างสรรค์ (Think out of the box) ซึ่งนอกจากการออกแบบ
ที่โดดเด่นสวยงามแล้ว ระเบียงที่ใช้วัสดุทดแทนไม้ Windsor ยังช่วยกันแดดและลดความร้อนเข้าสู่ตัวอาคารได้

ที่ผ่านมา เอสซีจีได้ปรับปรุงอาคารสำนักงานใหญ่ 1, 2 และอาคาร 5 ที่ใช้งานมานานเกือบ 30 ปี ให้เป็นอาคาร Green Building ตามมาตรฐานสากล โดยได้รับการรับรองมาตรฐานระดับสูงสุด LEED EB:OM Platinum (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Building Operation and Maintenance) ประเภทการปรับปรุงอาคารใช้งาน เป็นรายแรกในภูมิภาคอาเซียน เมื่อปี 2555

The LEED Platinum Certified SCG 100th Year Building Provides an Excellent Prototype for Sustainable Buildings
The SCG 100th Year Building has recently been awarded with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Building Design and Construction: LEED BD+C with the highest achievement of LEED Platinum from the US Green Building Council (USGBC), making it an excellent prototype for energy-efficient and environmentally friendly buildings for the new working generations as well as being ready to expand the green building experience to other organizations.
Mr. Roongrote Rangsiyopash, President of SCG Paper and Chairman of SCG Sustainable Development Committee, says that “SCG has portrayed the concept of harmonious coexistence with the community, its culture and visions, its diversity as well as requirements of the new generations who are becoming a majority of the company for the design of SCG 100th Year Building. Carefully designed with all environmental-conscious concepts, the building provides an excellent role model for other buildings looking for ways to save energy and become environmentally friendly. Awarded with the highest LEED achievement - LEED BD+C Platinum (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Building Design and Construction) from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), recognized worldwide as the hallmark of the environmental rating for buildings. This achievement reflects how serious and committed SCG is when it comes to social responsibility and environmentally sound business practices.”
The SCG 100th Year Building is a truly sustainable building. From the design throughout the construction, functions and application of green materials, the building represents SCG’s utmost attempt to preserve the environment. Recycled materials, part of SCG eco value, have been incorporated greatly along with the careful construction planning and waste management to ensure minimum impact to the nearby communities with top priorities on the environment and ecosystem. The building has been shielded from the heat with thermal insulation glass and double glazing window. Energy is saved with the installation of energy-saving T5 and LED bulbs and electricity-generating solar panel. Water is saved with a water management scheme that returns 100% of the used and treated water as well as the rain water for sanitation and gardening. The lush and open landscape that occupies over 50% of the entire space provides a pool of fresh air, making it a great spot to wind down or work creatively. The whole of the building is designed to keep the workers happy and at their best of health.
SCG Smart Office explains the Building Automation System (BAS) which optimizes energy usage of air-conditioning and lighting systems. Moreover, ‘Green Activities’ are utilized aiming to replace physical meetings with more VDO conferences. More bike parking spaces are created to encourage staff to commute by bike, another way to reducing automobile pollution while keeping the staff healthy and fit. Those with eco cars also have the perks with good parking spaces that are closer to the building entrances than other cars.
“Furthermore, SCG has also set up ‘SCG Green Solution’ to provide advice for external organization on green and sustainable building as well as materials and services. This has become a part of a new business that develops a true sustainable architecture that fits better in the changing social and economic environment of the country and builds a larger network of environmentally conscious businesses for a greener future.” says Mr. Roongrote.
SCG has invested over 3.3 billion baht and more than three years in building the SCG 100th Year Building. Although the building itself does not provide any indication to become an excellent R.O.I, it is an excellent return in terms of preserving our environment and the natural ecology which is priceless. In this case, we see a huge profit for everyone, especially the staffs who are a part of our core mission. We are proud to be able to build a green awareness which will definitely lead on to something much more significant in the future.
Instead of a geometric shape, the SCG’s flagship green building adopted the unique free-flowing form that has become a landmark of its own. This new building represents our new workforce that includes the young generation X and Y with highlights in the curving balconies that lend the beautiful contouring lines all around. Apart from reflecting our thinking-out-of-the-box culture, we also adopted the Windsor faux wood for the balconies which also shield the building from the heat.
So far, SCG has renovated its well-used headquarters Building 1, 2 and Building 5 – all of which are almost 30 years old – to achieve the highest environmental standard of LEED EB:OM Platinum (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Building Operation and Maintenance) and becoming the first in ASEAN to receive such a prestigious accreditation in 2012.
