กสิกรไทย-เวิร์คพอยท์ พลิกโฉมเกมโชว์เพื่อเทคสตาร์ทอัพครั้งแรกของไทย The Unicorn สตาร์ทอัพพันล้าน ชิงรางวัล 1 ล้านบาท
กสิกรไทย และเวิร์คพอยท์ เอ็นเทอร์เทนเมนท์ ประกาศพลิกโฉมเกมโชว์ไทย เตรียมส่ง ‘The Unicorn สตาร์ทอัพพันล้าน’ ออกอากาศ 2 มิถุนายน ครั้งแรกที่มีการนำเสนอเกมโชว์ที่ช่วยสร้างแรงบันดาลใจและปลุกกระแสการนำเทคโนโลยีมาใช้ทั้งในชีวิตส่วนตัว และธุรกิจ เพื่อชิงความเป็นสุดยอดเทคสตาร์ทอัพ พิชิตเงินรางวัล 1 ล้านบาท
นายพัชร สมะลาภา รองกรรมการผู้จัดการอาวุโส ธนาคารกสิกรไทย เปิดเผยว่า เทคโนโลยีเข้าถึงการใช้ชีวิตประจำวันมากขึ้น และขยายวงกว้างไปเรื่อยๆ ทำให้คนมีความเกี่ยวข้องผูกพันกับเทคโนโลยีอย่างหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ ปัจจัยสำคัญที่เห็นได้ชัดคือ ปัจจุบันประเทศไทยมีหมายเลขโทรศัพท์มือถือเกือบ 90ล้านเลขหมาย ซึ่งมากกว่าจำนวนประชากร แสดงให้เห็นว่าการเข้าถึงอินเทอร์เน็ตง่ายขึ้นและมีผลกับการดำเนินชีวิตและมีส่วนเปลี่ยนแปลงบริการทางธุรกิจอย่างมาก
ธนาคารกสิกรไทยในฐานะผู้นำด้านดิจิทัลแบงกิ้งที่มุ่งสร้างประสบการณ์นวัตกรรมการเงินและโมเดลธุรกิจใหม่ ด้วยเทคโนโลยีดิจิทัลอย่างต่อเนื่อง อีกทั้งยังช่วยสนับสนุนเทคสตาร์ทอัพไทยและผลักดันให้คิดค้นแอปพลิเคชันที่สามารถอำนวยความสะดวกในชีวิตประจำวัน ให้ได้มีโอกาสแสดงความรู้ ความสามารถผ่านการแข่งขันในรายการ The Unicorn สตาร์ทอัพพันล้าน ที่ธนาคารกสิกรไทยร่วมกับเวิร์คพอยท์ เอ็นเทอร์เทนเมนท์ จัดทำขึ้น รายการที่ผู้เข้าแข่งขันจะได้แสดงศักยภาพเทคโนโลยีอันทันสมัยของแอปพลิเคชันเพื่อชิงเงินรางวัลมูลค่า 1 ล้านบาท นอกจากนี้ยังได้สำรวจว่าฟีเจอร์ของแอปพลิเคชันตอบโจทย์ผู้บริโภคในตลาดหรือไม่ โดยผ่านคำแนะนำของกรรมการและผู้ชมรายการในสตูดิโอ
นายชลากรณ์ ปัญญาโฉม ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารสายงานดิจิทัลทีวี บริษัท เวิร์คพอยท์ เอ็นเทอร์เทนเมนท์ จำกัด (มหาชน) กล่าวเพิ่มเติมว่า ชื่อรายการ The Unicorn สตาร์ทอัพพันล้าน มีที่มาจากเทค สตาร์ทอัพ ที่มีมูลค่าธุรกิจมากกว่า 1,000 ล้านดอลลาร์ โดยยังไม่เข้าตลาดหุ้น ซึ่งแสดงถึงการประสบความสำเร็จที่รวดเร็วจากเงินของนักลงทุน เป็นแนวคิดสำคัญที่ทำให้เกิดการพลิกโฉมรายการเกมโชว์ของเมืองไทยในครั้งนี้ ซึ่งความแปลกใหม่ที่จะเห็นได้ชัดที่สุดในรายการ คือการได้รับองค์ความรู้ในเรื่องเทค สตาร์ทอัพ และประสบการณ์ตรงจาก 12 ธุรกิจ เป็นอีกหนึ่งรายการที่อยากให้ผู้ชมรายการติดตามและให้กำลังใจเทคสตาร์ทอัพไทย ให้ก้าวไปสู่การเป็น The Unicorn ให้ได้
The Unicorn สตาร์ทอัพพันล้าน เป็นรายการที่รวบรวมสุดยอด 12 แอปพลิเคชันที่ช่วยแก้ปัญหาต่าง ๆ ในชีวิตประจำวัน โดยให้มานำเสนอจุดเด่นของแอปพลิเคชัน และตอบคำถามจากผู้ชมรายการและคณะกรรมการในรอบแรก อาทิ คุณพัชร สมะลาภา รองกรรมการผู้จัดการอาวุโส ธนาคารกสิกรไทย คุณไผท ผดุงถิ่น ผู้ปลุกกระแสการจัดการเทคโนโลยีทางธุรกิจและผู้ก่อตั้ง Builk.com คุณทิวา ยอร์ค ผู้คร่ำหวอดวงการเทคโนโลยีเมืองไทยมากว่า 15 ปี และผู้บริหาร Kaidee.com และคุณยอด ชินสุภัคกุล ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารและผู้ก่อตั้ง Wongnai ซึ่งคณะกรรมการและผู้ชมรายการต้องเลือกว่าจะดาวน์โหลดหรือไม่ดาวน์โหลดแอปพลิเคชันที่มานำเสนอ จากนั้นทดลองใช้และตัดสินใจว่าจะลบหรือจะเก็บแอปพลิเคชันนั้นไว้ โดยในทุกสัปดาห์จะมีการรวบรวมคะแนนของแต่ละธุรกิจ เพื่อการคัดเลือก 3 แอปพลิเคชันที่ได้คะแนนสูงสุดเข้าชิงในรอบสุดท้ายต่อไป
การแข่งขันในรอบสุดท้าย เป็นการตอบคำถามของกรรมการผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิที่มีมุมมองและความเชี่ยวชาญในด้านต่าง ๆ 5 ท่าน ประกอบด้วย คุณขัตติยา อินทรวิชัย กรรมการผู้จัดการ ธนาคารกสิกรไทย คุณจุฑาศรี คูวินิชกุล ผู้อำนวยการและผู้ก่อตั้ง GrabTaxi (Thailand) คุณอริยะ พนมยงค์ กรรมการผู้จัดการ LINE ประเทศไทย คุณชานนท์ เรืองกฤตยา ประธานบริหาร บริษัท อนันดา ดีเวลลอปเม้นท์ จำกัด และคุณธนพงษ์ ณ ระนอง กรรมการผู้จัดการ บริษัท Beacon Venture Capital โดยธุรกิจที่ได้รับคะแนนมากที่สุดจะได้เป็นสุดยอด Tech Startup ไทย พร้อมรับเงินรางวัล 1 ล้านบาท
ตัวอย่างแอปพลิเคชันที่จะเข้ามาสร้างสีสันในรายการและช่วยเปลี่ยนการดำเนินชีวิตให้ง่ายขึ้น อาทิ Piggipo แอปพลิเคชันช่วยจัดการรายรับ-รายจ่าย สรุปยอดบัตรเครดิต QueQ กดจองคิวผ่านแอปพลิเคชัน และ Storylog แหล่งรวมเรื่องเล่าที่ใหญ่ที่สุดและแชร์ไปยัง facebook ได้ทันที เป็นต้น รายการ The Unicorn สตาร์ทอัพพันล้าน เริ่มออกอากาศวันศุกร์ที่ 2 มิถุนายน เวลา 21.00 – 22.00 น. ช่อง 23 เวิร์คพอยท์ โดยมีน้าเน็ก เกตุเสพย์สวัสดิ์ ปาลกะวงศ์ ณ อยุธยา พิธีกรมากความสามารถเป็นผู้ดำเนินรายการ

The Unicorn: Billion Dollar Startup A new game show from KBank and Workpoint in which tech startups compete for a million Baht
KBank and Workpoint Entertainment, is launching a new TV game show, ‘The Unicorn: Billion Dollar Startup’, on June 2 for tech startups. This will be Thailand’s first game show aimed at promoting the use of technology in private life and in business as contestants compete to be named Thailand’s Top Tech Startup and win a million Baht.
KBank Senior Executive Vice President Mr. Patchara Samalapa notes that the use of technology in daily life is expanding to the point that all of us are becoming inevitably linked to technology. There are nearly 90 million mobile phone numbers in use in Thailand, well beyond the total population, evidencing extensive access to the internet with significant impact on daily life and on business services.
As a leader in digital banking, KBank promotes financial innovation and new business models utilizing digital technology. Those efforts include assisting and promoting tech startups and the creation of applications that simplify and enhance daily life. Competing in The Unicorn: Billion Dollar Startup will give startups the opportunity of sharing their knowledge and ability, while demonstrating the potential of their high-tech applications as they compete for the million Baht prize. The apps will be evaluated for the ability to answer to the needs of consumers by a panel of judges and the studio audience.
Mr. Chalakorn Panyashom, Chief Operation Officer at Workpoint Entertainment PCL, notes that name of the program, The Unicorn: Billion Dollar Startup, refers to the relatively new business term “unicorn”: a tech startup that achieves a value of more than one billion dollars before going public, thus one that is hugely and rapidly successful. That idea inspired the groundbreaking concept of the game show. The innovative program will convey a knowledge of tech startups and share the hands-on experience of 12 entrepreneurs. Viewers following the show will cheer Thai tech startups on to become unicorns.
The Unicorn: Billion Dollar Startup will feature 12 excellent apps that address a number of everyday problems. Contestants will present the apps and respond to questions from the audience and judges. The judges are Mr. Patchara Samalapa, KBank Senior Executive Vice President; Mr. Patai Padungtin, founder of Builk Asia Co., Ltd., a principal technology evangelist in Thailand; Mr. Tiwa York, Head Coach/CEO Kaidee.com and 15-year veteran of Thai technology management; and Mr. Yod Chinsupakul, CEO & Co-Founder of Wongnai. The judges and audience will choose whether or not to download each app. After trying it out, they will decide whether to keep or delete the app. Scores will be tallied each week with three finalists reaching the final round.
In the final round, contestants will face five judges with expertise in various fields: Ms. Kattiya Indaravijaya, KBank President; Ms. Juthasree Kuvinichkul, Director and Co-Founder of Grab Taxi Thailand; Mr. Ariya Banomyong, Managing Director of Line Thailand; Mr. Chanond Ruangkritya, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ananda Development PCL.; and Mr. Thanapong Na Ranong, Managing Director of Beacon Venture Capital. The contestant garnering the most votes will be named Thailand’s Top Tech Startup and win a cash prize of 1 million Baht.
Some of the applications enlivening the show and potentially making our lives easier include Piggipo, a receipts, payments and credit card management app; QueQ, an app for making reservations; and Storylog, a story-telling platform on which users can share stories instantly via Facebook. The Unicorn: Billion Dollar Startup, hosted by the talented Mr. Kathsepsawad Palakawong na Ayutthaya, AKA Na Nake, will debut June 2, 21:00-22:00 hours, on Workpoint Creative TV, Channel 23.
Mr. Patchara added that that the program will provide knowledge and inspiration to those with dreams of starting a tech firm, encouraging them to develop new applications to solve the problems and meet the needs of everyday life. Beyond entertainment, viewers will learn about new applications that can make their lives much easier.
