อรพงศ์ เทียนเงิน นั่งประธานกรรมการฯ ดิจิทัล เวนเจอร์ส พร้อมผลักดัน นวัตกรรมฟินเทคเดินหน้าพลิกโฉมดิจิทัลแบงกิ้ง
ดิจิทัล เวนเจอร์ส แต่งตั้ง นายอรพงศ์ เทียนเงิน ดำรงตำแหน่งประธานกรรมการบริหารคนใหม่ โดยมีผลตั้งแต่วันที่ 2 พฤษภาคม 2560 ด้วยภารกิจสำคัญในการผลักดันความเปลี่ยนแปลงในธุรกิจการเงินผ่านการลงทุนและสร้างสรรค์นวัตกรรมเทคโนโลยีทางการเงินสำหรับการใช้งานจริง พร้อมยกระดับประสบการณ์ทางด้านดิจิทัลแบงกิ้งระดับโลกให้เกิดขึ้นในวงการการเงินของไทย
นายอรพงศ์ มีความพร้อมที่จะสานต่อภารกิจสำคัญให้แก่ ดิจิทัล เวนเจอร์ส คือการผลักดันระบบนิเวศด้านนวัตกรรมทางการเงินหรือฟินเทค เพื่อสร้างสรรค์เทคโนโลยีใหม่ๆ ที่จะยกระดับงานทางด้านดิจิทัลแบงกิ้งให้แก่ธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ รวมถึงสนับสนุนให้มีผู้ประกอบการและสตาร์ทอัพรายใหม่ๆ ที่จะสามารถเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมกับธนาคารในการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ตอบสนองความต้องการของลูกค้า ได้ดีขึ้น เพื่อรองรับโลกธุรกิจที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปสู่ยุคดิจิทัล ด้วยพื้นฐานความรู้ทางด้านวิศวกรรมทำให้ อรพงศ์มีความคิดเป็นระบบและตัดสินทุกอย่างด้วยการวิเคราะห์เหตุและผล ประกอบกับการทำงานร่วมกับคนจากหลายวัฒนธรรมองค์กรทั่วโลก และประสบการณ์มากกว่า 25 ปี ทั้งในอุตสาหกรรม การผลิต เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ ที่ปรึกษาด้านการบริหารจัดการการองค์กรทางด้านโทรคมนาคม และการเงินการธนาคาร
ก่อนเข้าร่วมงานกับดิจิทัล เวนเจอร์ส อรพงศ์ ดำรงตำแหน่งเป็น กรรมการผู้จัดการ บริษัท ไมโครซอฟท์ (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด ทำหน้าที่ขับเคลื่อนพันธกิจของไมโครซอฟท์ให้ประสบความสำเร็จ นำเทคโนโลยี ที่ทันสมัยและมีความปลอดภัยสูงสุดมาช่วยให้ทุกคนและองค์กรบรรลุผลสำเร็จยิ่งขึ้น และยังสานต่อโครงการนำเทคโนโลยีมาพัฒนาและเพิ่มศักยภาพในการแข่งขันให้กับประเทศไทย และการสร้างศักยภาพให้ธุรกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อมของไทยสามารถแข่งขันได้บนเวทีโลก และยังมีประสบการณ์การทำงานกับองค์กรระดับโลกในต่างประเทศ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการทำงานให้กับบริษัทที่ปรึกษาระดับโลกอย่างเอคเซนเชอร์เป็นระยะเวลากว่า 16 ปี รับผิดชอบดูแลและให้บริการลูกค้าทั่วโลกในหลากหลายธุรกิจ รวมทั้งมีส่วนช่วยให้ลูกค้าธุกิจขนาดใหญ่ของประเทศไทยหลายรายในการปรับเปลี่ยนองค์กร เพื่อรองรับกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางธุรกิจ โดยได้รับตำแหน่งสูงสุดเป็นกรรมการผู้จัดการ บริษัท เอคเซน-เชอร์ ประเทศไทย
อรพงศ์ สำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี จากคณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ สาขาวิศวกรรมโยธา จากมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี และปริญญาโท จากสาขาบริหารธุรกิจ และสาขาวิศวกรรมระบบการผลิตจาก Lehigh University เมืองเบธเลเฮม รัฐเพนซิลเวเนีย จากนั้นเริ่มทำงานที่ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริการ่วมกับองค์กรชั้นนำ ได้แก่ Caterpillar, Boeing และ The Iacocca Institute รวมทั้ง เอคเซนเชอร์ และไมโครซอฟท์ สิ่งสำคัญที่ทำให้อรพงศ์ประสบความสำเร็จคือความพร้อมที่จะเปลี่ยนแปลงตลอดเวลา มองว่าทุกสิ่งคือความท้าทายและเป็นเรื่องสนุกที่จะทำ

Orapong Thien-Ngern named Digital Ventures chairman with mandate to steer Fintech investments and digital banking innovations
Digital Ventures Co., Ltd., the Fintech investment and development subsidiary of Siam Commercial Bank, has appointed Mr. Orapong Thien-Ngern as the new Chairman of the Executive Committee, effective May 2, 2017. In his new role, Orapong will lead the company’s mission to invest in startup businesses that have the strongest potential to help SCB raise standards for digital banking and uplift Thailand’s financial services industry.
As a respected veteran of the software and management consulting industries, Orapong is outstandingly qualified to guide Digital Ventures’ mission to nurture Thailand’s nascent fintech ecosystem and support innovations that will elevate SCB’s digital banking standards. He will be responsible for fostering both startups and new financial technology operations at existing firms, helping them work together with the Bank to develop innovative products to better serve customers’ changing requirements, speeding SCB’s transition to the digital era.
With his background in engineering, Orapong emphasizes systematic thinking, so as to reach optimal decisions based on analysis and reasoning. Moreover, he taps broad and deep international experience at world-class organizations, having worked for over 25 years in information technology and manufacturing as well as management consulting on behalf of leading telecommunications and financial services companies.
Before joining Digital Ventures, Orapong served as general manager of Microsoft (Thailand) Co., Ltd., where he led its mission to help organizations achieve their goals through the adoption of modern technology having highest security. He also contributed crucial know-how in helping boost Thailand’s national competitiveness and helping Thai SMEs use technology to compete in the global arena. He spent 16 years working with Accenture, a top global professional services and management consulting company, handling customers around the world in a variety of industries. During this time, he helped guide the reorganization of several large Thai corporations to respond to changing business conditions and needs. His last role at Accenture was as managing director of its Thailand operations.
Orapong graduated from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology, Bangkok, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree as well as a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He began his career at such leading organizations as Caterpillar, Boeing and The Iacocca Institute, before moving on to Accenture and Microsoft. He attributes his success to his “readiness to adapt to change, and approaching work as a source of both challenge and fun.”
