เอไอเอส ประกาศความสำเร็จขยายเครือข่าย 3G 2100 ครอบคลุมทั่วไทยแล้ว ยืนยันเดินหน้ามอบประโยชน์จาก 3G ให้แก่คนไทยเต็มรูปแบบ
เอไอเอส ประกาศความสำเร็จการขยายเครือข่าย AIS 3G 2100 ครอบคลุมทั่วประเทศแล้ว และ ครอบคลุมยิ่งกว่าเครือข่าย 2G เดิม หลังจากใช้เวลาสั้นที่สุดเพียง 1 ปีในการพัฒนา พร้อมเปิดตัวแคมเปญ ‘AIS 3G 2100 คลื่นเดียว แรงชัวร์ ทั่วไทย’มอบของขวัญแทนคำขอบคุณให้แก่ลูกค้าทั้งฐานกว่า 42 ล้านราย
นายปรัธนา ลีลพนัง รองกรรมการผู้อำนวยการ สายงานการตลาด บริษัท แอดวานซ์ อินโฟร์ เซอร์วิส จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ เอไอเอส กล่าวว่า “เมื่อวันที่ 7 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ. 2556 เอไอเอส ได้เปิดตัว AIS 3G2100 เชิงพาณิชย์อย่างเป็นทางการ และสัญญาว่าจะขยายพื้นที่ให้ครอบคลุมความต้องการอย่างรวดเร็วที่สุด วันนี้ครบ 1 ปีของการเปิดให้บริการ เราจึงยินดีเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่จะประกาศว่า ขณะนี้เครือข่าย AIS 3G 2100 ได้ครอบคลุมทั่วประเทศไทยแล้ว และมากกว่าความครอบคลุมของเครือข่ายยุค 2G ที่ได้รับการยอมรับว่าครอบคลุมสูงสุดแล้วเช่นกัน”
“ตลอด 1 ปีที่ผ่านมา ชาวเอไอเอสมุ่งมั่นเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่จะพัฒนาบริการและมอบความพึงพอใจจาก AIS 3G 2100 ให้แก่ลูกค้า โดยเราได้ใช้งบประมาณนับตั้งแต่ปี 2556-2557 เป็นเงินราว 60,000 ล้านบาท (ปี 2556 ใช้งบลงทุน 20,000 ล้านบาท และ ปี 2557 ใช้งบลงทุน 40,000 ล้านบาท) ในการขยายเครือข่าย และปัจจุบันมีลูกค้า AIS 3G 2100 แล้วอยู่ที่กว่า 26 ล้านราย นับเป็นผู้ให้บริการเพียงรายเดียวที่นำคลื่น 2100 MHz ทรัพยากรความถี่ของชาติมามอบประโยชน์ให้แก่คนไทยอย่างคุ้มค่าตามเจตนารมณ์ของ กสทช. และเป็นรายเดียวที่มุ่งมั่นขยายเครือข่ายได้ครอบคลุมทั่วประเทศเร็วที่สุดภายในเวลาเพียง 1 ปี เท่านั้น โดยถือว่าเร็วกว่าข้อกำหนดของ กสทช.ถึง 3 ปี”

นายปรัธนา กล่าวเพิ่มเติมว่า “เราใช้ความถี่บนคลื่น 2100 MHz ซึ่งได้รับจากการประมูลทั้ง 15 เม็กกะเฮิรต์ซ มาให้บริการเพื่อคุณภาพที่ดีที่สุด เน้นที่ความหนาแน่นของสถานีฐาน, นำนวัตกรรมใหม่ๆ อย่าง Small Cell เข้ามาเสริมในช่องว่างจุดเล็กๆ ในแต่ละพื้นที่, ติดอุปกรณ์ให้รองรับความเร็วสูงสุดที่ 42 Mbps ทุกแห่งทั่วประเทศ, มอบคุณภาพเสียงระดับ HD Voice สำหรับผู้ใช้สมาร์ทโฟนรุ่นที่รองรับ ที่สำคัญการใช้งานที่อยู่บนคลื่นเดียว ย่อมทำให้เกิดความเสถียรมากกว่าการใช้งานหลายคลื่นในเวลาเดียวกัน โดยล่าสุดปริมาณสถานีฐานของ AIS 3G 2100 อยู่ที่ 17,000 แห่ง และจะขยายอย่างต่อเนื่องในพื้นที่ใหม่ๆ หรือ เพิ่มความสามารถในการรองรับการใช้งานในพื้นที่เดิมที่ความต้องการใช้งาน Data เพิ่มขึ้น
“แนวคิด AIS 3G 2100 คลื่นเดียว แรงชัวร์ ทั่วไทย นั้น ต้องการตอกย้ำประโยชน์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นกับลูกค้า ว่า
1. AIS 3G 2100 แรงชัด ต่อเนื่องไม่สะดุด ด้วยคลื่นเดียว

การติดตั้งอุปกรณ์ที่เรียกว่า small cell และ pico-cell ในบริเวณที่มีการใช้งานหนาแน่นทั้งภายใน และภายนอกอาคาร อาทิ แหล่งชุมชน ตลาดนัด ห้างสรรพสินค้า คอมมูนิตี้มอลล์ รวมถึงสนามกีฬาที่สำคัญ ทำให้สามารถรองรับการใช้งานที่หนาแน่น และแบบพร้อมๆ กัน ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
